| Sham inaugurates Blood donation camp | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, April 07- Minister for Health & Family Welfare, Mr. Sham Lal Sharma today inaugurated 1-day blood donation camp at Sub- District Hospital, Akhnoor.
The camp has been jointly organized by J&K State AIDS Control Society in collaboration with Block Medical Officer, Akhnoor & Young Blood Organization.
During the camp, more than 100 volunteers of Army, BSF, Police, Rotary Club & other Social Organizations registered for blood donation. The local youth also voluntarily turned up to donate their blood.
Interacting with the people, the Minister said that blood donation is a noble cause which immensely helps in saving precious lives. He appealed the people to come forward for this generous cause to help those who are trouble and require their help. He appreciated the endeavours of voluntary organizations which are rendering selfless services to the mankind thus supplementing government’s efforts in ensuring better healthcare.
The Minister also inspected functioning of the hospital and took stock of the medicare being extended to the patients. He asked the medicos to work with extra zeal and dedication to provide best services to the patients.
Mr. Sham also ascertained the status report of construction of residential accommodation for doctors in the hospital premises. He directed the executing agency to speed up the pace of work and complete the project at the earliest.
