PDP to hold protest rallies against anti-people policies of government | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, April 7: The main opposition, PDP has decided to launch demonstration in all tehsil headquarters of the state on April 9 in protest against increase in incidents of arrests and excesses against the civilians by the security forces especially in the Kashmir valley. Disclosing this the PDP general secretary, Mohd. Dilawar Mir said that these protest demonstrations would not be held against individuals who wield power but against the system that has been allowed to degenerate and degrade. He said that peoples' problem continued to pile up after the ruling coalition continued to be insensitive to these issues. While people were trying to bear certain economic problems kicked up by rising price and availability of substandard ration at the Government ration depots a fresh wave of arrests has gripped the valley by panic. Mir contested the claim of Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah on marked decrease in cases of human rights violations which were in the shape of arrest of large number of teenagers in the valley. Mir said that the PDP will continue to launch agitations, in one form or the other against the state Government so long it does not improve its performance and functioning.
