4/8/2011 12:08:07 AM
Early Times Report
Srinagar, Apr 7 :Jammu and Kashmir government will approach Army authorities to use rail service in the Kashmir valley for the movement of troops to avoid roads, which often witness traffic jams for hours.

Official sources said that authorities in the Kashmir valley are concerned over the frequent traffic jams, particularly during morning and evening hours.

Movement of hundreds of Army vehicles from north Kashmir to Srinagar and south Kashmir also added to traffic jams. All civilian traffic comes to halt when Army convoy is on move, leading to confusion and traffic jams for hours.

They said the Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Asgar Samoon would meet the Army authorities soon and urge them to use rail service between Baramulla-Srinagar-Qazigund for troops, including for those going to Jammu or coming from there.
