| Drunkards beat patwari at Akhnoor | | | Jammu/April 07: Two drunkards allegedly beat up a patwari over delay for preparing a relief cheque at Akhnoor near here today.
Patwari Aijaz Ahmed, posted at Khadan, Akhnoor, was allegedly thrashed by Suram Chand and Bodh Raj, both residents of Khadan when he caused delay in preparing a relief cheque in their favour.
In his report to SDM, Akhnoor, the patwari later claimed that he was preparing and distributing cheques to other people when the two drunkards also demanded a cheque.
He said when they were told to wait for their turn, they thrashed him.
The SDM later forwarded the complaint to the SHO concerned for lodging an FIR against both of them.
