Vehicle lifters' gang busted | | | Early Times Report Samba Apr 7: With the arrest of three youth, Samba police Thursday claimed to have busted an inter-state gang of vehicle lifters and recovered six stolen vehicles from their possession. Police sources said acting on inputs about the selling of stolen vehicles with Punjab number plates in Samba and its adjoining areas, SSP, Samba, Israr Khan constituted a special investigation team under the supervision of DSP (Samba headquarters) Shazaad Salaria and Samba police station SHO, Inspector Tejinder Singh.During the course of investigation, the special team arrested Amit Kumar, son of Daleep Kumar of Chak Manga, Samba, recovered two stolen motorbikes from him.During his interrogation, Amit told police that Vipin Kumar, son of Mohan Lal of Banthowal in Gurdaspur, Punjab, was his close associate. Vipan had sold the two seized motorbikes to him. Cops then raided his Gurdaspur residence and arrested him. Two motorbikes, which he had stolen from different places, were recovered from him at the time of his arrest, the sources dded. He used to steal vehicles from Punjab and sell them in Jammu and Kashmir by on fake registration certificates.On his disclosure, his accomplice Sanjeev Kumar, son of Devinder Pal of Singowal, Gurdaspur, was also arrested.
