NABARD meet held, highlighted various initiatives | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAAMU, Apr 8: M.L.Sukhdeve, Chief General Manager, NABARD addressed a press meet wherein he highlighted the contribution of NABARD in the State of Jammu & Kashmir. He mentioned that initiatives like preparation of potential credit plan, launching of Farmers’ Clubs, support for Kisan Mela and exposure visit were taken by NABARD. NABARD had provided refinance of Rs. 42 crores for schematic lending and Rs. 18 crore for production credit to banks in the state he said. Sukhdeve further elaborated that under RIDF 902 crore have been sanctioned in the state for 360 rural infrastructure projects during 2010-11. With this cumulative sanctions under RIDF reached to 4064 crore for 4532 projects for infrastructure creation. While responding to the press,. M.L. Sukhdeve said that a Potential Credit Plan of ` 3204 crore under priority sector for all 22 districts of J & K had been prepared for 2011-12. On a query of the press regarding interest subvention to the farmers he said that `.32.40 lakhs has been released to Regional Rural Banks towards interest subvention for the year 2009-10 against crop loans provided to farmers at concession rate of interest. Sukhdeve also informed the press that NABARD has provided subsidy of ` 3 crore for financing 4000 animals with a cost of ` 10 crore under Dairy Entrepreneurship Development Scheme in Jammu and Kashmir.
