Students pay tributes to martyrs , vow to root out corruption | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Apr 8: The students of Lawrence Public School today paid rich tributes to the martyrs who laid down their lives for the sake of the sovereignty of India & its people. The students lit candles near the Amar Jyot at the Balidan Sthamb. The students also maintained a two minutes silence as a mark of respect for those who had sacrificed their today for the sake of our tomorrow, so that Indians could live in a corruption free country. The students were taken around the Balidan Sthamb & were shown the history of the 1962,1965, 1971 war & 1999 (kargil war) engraved on the walls in the backdrop of the Balidan Sthamb. After the complete round of the Balidan Sthamb the students became emotionally proud & enthusiastic. The students vowed together that they would not let the sacrifices made by these great martyrs go waste & would keep the light burning. They also vowed to be part of the National movement against corruption initiated by Anna Hazare. The students in the lawns of Balidan Sthamb prepared placards "I am Anna, demolish corruption", Go! Anna, Go! We are with you , Corruption is like Cancer, it has secondaries in Administration, Education, Judiciary, Health, Revenue, Agriculture.
