Govt fails to curb corruption in state: PDP | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, April 8: Senior PDP leader Shahzad Khan has strongly criticized the present coalition government over its failure to curb the increasing level of corruption in the state. In a press release Shahzad said that the hypocrisy of the present coalition government is clear from the fact that it is not committing to the introduction of the Jan Lok Pal Bill despite the support of the CM to social activist Anna Hazare in his recent statement. Shahzad said that today when the world is becoming a small village thanks to globalization, people are becoming more and more aware of their rights the government has completely failed to provide with transparent and corruption free governance. The transparency tools including the RTI Act, Accountability Commission have become defunct but for the lack of interest and effort of the government for their smooth conduct. Extending his full support to the crusade of social activist Anna Hazare against corruption, Shahzad said that each and every responsible citizen of the country should join the cause. Corruption is not only eating away the values and principles of our forefathers who had fought the British tooth and nail to attain independence but also will put an end to a value loaded future our coming generations. J&K should step forward and pass the Jan Lok Pal Bill so that corruption is curbed at all levels. ”It is unfortunate that our state is ranked the second most corrupt state in the country,” he said. Commenting on the condition of the youth in the state, Shahzad said that rising unemployment is taking the toll of the youth in the state.
