| Omar prays for cool heads to prevail | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 8: The Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah happened to be the first person to confirm the death of Jamiat-e-Ahli Hadees President, Moulana Showkat Shah in a landmine blast at Gawkadal (Maisuma) today.
Omar instantly tweeted, "Maulana Showkat, head of the Jamat-i-Ahle Hadees has been killed in a blast in Srinagar. Will cool heads prevail? I pray they do".
Soon after, Omar received a flood of tweets on dos and don’ts to control the situation.
A follower questioned him on sounding red alert in the valley. Omar replied: “Red alert only to heighten security because of blast, not to stop people".
There were some passionate tweets as well. "SIR ARE YOU READY .SUMMER IS KNOCKING AT YOUR DOORSTEPS. ROAD HAS BEEN COLOURED RED"
Those who worry more about the fall out of the blast tweeted , "Please donot deploy more forces in downtown as this will increase people's anger more and more"
Another follower posted a comment advising Omar, "At this crucial time take cops back as people will surely come on roads so prevent more injuries take cops back".
This a precursor to create another 2010 summer in 2011. And of course, Omar Abdullah likely to flounder again", a tweet post read.
