JAMMU, APRIL 09- Government is also embarking on a plan to develop all the areas of the State on modern lines adding that in this regard UPA Government headed by Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh has provided liberal funding for providing all basic needs to the people of the three regions at their doorsteps stated Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation, Raman Bhalla
The Minister was interacting with people after inspecting the ongoing road widening works at Sainik Colony, Sector-A, coming up at an estimated cost of Rs. 11 lakh.
He said that the coalition Government was committed to provide all civic amenities, including safe drinking water, electricity, education, health, better roads, lanes and drains across the State.
He said on the completion of widening works at Sector-A, the people of the area would be facilitated. He asked the executing agency to complete the digging and blacktopping works within stipulated time frame for the benefit of the people.
He asked the people to personally monitor the quality of development works in their respective areas and also cooperate with executing agencies in completing development works within prescribed time frame.
He also informed that Government has passed a bill in the Assembly that will provide better delivery of public services to the people of the state within a specified time limit adding the bill would provide relief to general public in getting their ration cards, electricity and water connections, driving licenses and other public services from the Government functionaries.
He described the bill as path breaking and meaningful efforts in the direction of giving transparent administration and good governance to the people of the State
