Sham inspects Gandhi Nagar hospital | System finetuned to safeguard service interests of medicos | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, April 09- In order to push forward the process of improving healthcare facilities in Government health institutions, Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Mr Sham Lal Sharma today paid surprise visit to Gandhi Nagar hospital. He went round all the wards, units and took-stock of the facilities being provided to the patients. He also inspected the blood bank, laboratories and CT scan and diagnostic system in the hospital. Expressing happiness over the management and sanitation of the hospital, the Minister said that patient friendly environment is must for efficient treatment and medicare system. He appreciated the endeavor of Medical Superintendent, Dr Madhu Khullar for fencing the hospital and hoped that with the efforts of her entire team, the Gandhi Nagar hospital would shortly figure among the best institutions in Jammu. He asked the doctors and paramedics to discharge their duties more carefully and serve the patients with missionary zeal. He said that doctors have got an opportunity to serve the mankind and they should do full justice with their job and maintain dignity of this noble profession. Mr Sham also listened to the grievances of doctors and said that Government has already initiated several measures to safeguard their service interests. He said that an effort has been made to put in place the transparent system to deal with the seniority and promotion cases of doctors and other categories of employees so that stagnation at different levels could be avoided, he maintained.
