At a press conference in Srinagar on Saturday, senior BJP leader and in-charge Kashmir Affairs, Chander Prakesh Ganga said that on the instructions of party president Nitin Gadkare, a 5-member party team will arrive in Srinagar on April 13.
"The group will be headed by senior party leader Rajnath Singh and it will have interaction with common people," Ganga said.He said that the group would like to meet separatist leaders as well.
"If separatist leaders are willing the group would to interact with them. The basic task of the group is to take stock of the situation in the state and to produce a fair report," Ganga said.
"BJP thinks that people of the state have been suffering at the hands of the present state government and the problems of people must be addressed," he said.
