ERA organizes workshop | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, APRIL 09: The J&K Economic Re-construction Agency (ERA) today organized one-day workshop for PHE Technocrats on Operation and Maintenance of Tube Wells and electromechanical equipments at PWD Guest House Gandhinagar Jammu. District Development Commissioner, Jammu Mr. Sanjeev Verma was the chief guest while Director, Urban JK ERA, Mr. M. M. Gupta presided over the workshop. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Gupta said that ERA has taken in hand as many as 49 tube wells and after completion, these tube wells would be handed over to PHE Departments for maintenance and operations. He said that objective of workshop is to create awareness and providing training to the PHE staff for minimization of problems and proper utilization of assets. Director ERA, Mr. M. M. Gupta said that construction of these tube wells in Jammu city were aimed at augmenting the existing water supply in general and to create new sources of potable water in Kandi areas like Keran, Bantalb and Roopnagar in particular along the foot hills of Shivalik Hills at higher contours, where water tanks were used to cater the need of potable water for the population of the area. Director ERA welcomed the guest and underscored the need of such events in future as well. He further said that ERA is committed to provide such training to the line departments for better utilization of assets as per the guidance. During the workshop Mr. R. K. Arora, Mechanical and Electrical experts of Design and Super Consultants (STUP) private limited Delhi gave a detail and comprehensive presentation, besides explaining various operational and maintenance procedure for various electro mechanical equipments for efficient use. On the conclusion of the workshop, Mr. K. B. Singh, Team Leader DSC-I, STUP Consultants presented the vote of thanks. Officers of the line departments attended the workshop.
