NSUI celebrates Foundation Day 2011 as Anti-Corruption Day

Jammu, Apr 9: National Students Union of India (NSUI) celebrated its 41st foundation Day in Jammu.
The celebration started by the flag hoisting ceremony and pledge. The flag was hoisted by Abdul Rashid Choudhary, Sate President NSUI in the presence of Chief Guest of the function, R.S. Chib Minister for Medical and Technical Education and Youth Affairs and Sports and other dignitaries.
After the Flag Hoisting NSUI pledge was read and accepted. A large no of NSUI activists gathered to participate in the ceremony.
The NSUI activists passed a unanimously resolution against the rampant corruption happening in the state and country and have decided to take the fight against corruption to every nook and corner of the society.
While addressing the gathering Chief Guest, Sh. R.S.Chib Minister for Medical and Technical Education and Youth Affairs and Sports exhorted upon the students and youth to work for the cause of secularism and down trodden students.
He said that NSUI is the foundation of Congress Party and the role of NSUI activists in the propagation of Congress Ideology is of immense importance and is highly commendable.
He congratulated the NSUI cadre for organising such an impressive rally on the NSUI Foundation Day, about an ever relevant issue like corruption.
He said that corruption is the root cause of all the major issues of the country and state.
He appealed to the students to be the torch bearers and watch dogs in the fight against corruption.
He further said that only educated youth can put an end to this menace of the corruption.
Abdul Rashid Choudhary, sate president NSUI, announced that very soon NSUI is going to launch a well organised and a massive gross root campaign against corruption in the state and the first focus would be education system. He appealed to students to join NSUI campaign enmass.
He said that, as J & K, has been ranked as the 3rd most corrupt state of the country, an aggressive role of students and youth is the only ray of hope that can help the state to curb this unholy menace of corruption.
He also revealed that NSUI would stress upon the government to make State Accountability Commission functional.
The rally was addressed by Aijaz Mehr, Sate Vice President, Arjun Singh Pathania state general secretary, Charanjeet Singh Chiku State General secretary, Udhey Chib state General Secretary, Sarbjeet Singh NSUI Jammu University president, Abiminu Singh Jamwal, Jammu city president, Jatinder Chib, Ajaz Choudhary and Abishekh Kousahl and Manu Jamwal.
