Indian civil society hailed for supporting Anna | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Apr 9: The members of All J&K Movement for Peace & Justice have congratulated the civil society for its unprecedented support to the Gandhian leader Anna Hazare in his struggle against corruption. Not to speak of political parties, businessmen, lawyers and even the student community showed great enthusiasm in their support for the veteran leader, it said. The 10 member committee, 5 members each from the government and the civil society will soon be formed as agreed upon by the both sides. Here we would like to suggest that the number of members from the civil side should be greater. Let there be 7 members from the civil society including the co-chairperson and three from the government including the chairperson. All .J&K Movement for Peace & Justice have urged the Chief Minister to take effective steps to curb the corruption in the state. It laid great stress on the need of being highly proactive and practical by the Chief Minister rather than issuing frequent statements against this menace. They said that hundreds of corruption cases are pending against the ministers and bureaucrats in the state and the government should take proper steps to deal with them and book the people who are looting the public money. They stressed upon the urgent need of basic administrative reforms like revival of intentionally fractured State Accountability Commission , constitution of "'State Vigilance Commission and a purposeful powerful working of the" State Information Commission". The members of the organization who attended the meeting were S. Deep Singh, Kuldeep Kumar Rao, Dr.G.S.Charak. S.N.Saproo, R.L.Raina, MA Magrey, Y.R.Sharma, Subash Chander , Kalyan Singh Chib and Madan Gopal. '
