‘Annual Lecturers Day’ organized | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, April 9: All J&K Plus 2 Lecturers’ Forum organized “ANNUAL LECTURERS’ DAY” with fervour and enthusiasm all over the State with its main function at General Zorawar Singh (GZS) Auditorium University of Jammu, Jammu where about 2000 delegates participated from all the three regions of the State, besides a galaxy of intellectuals and scholars from Northern Indian States. The days’ proceedings were started with traditional lightening ceremony which was preformed in presence of a number of VVIPs’ along with all District Presidents and Central Leadership of the Forum The Historic assemblage in the House started its proceedings with a “Pledge of conscious” to re-double its efforts to bring the desirable improvement in the field of Education and to follow the ideals of our young and visionary Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah, who believes in action and also to translate the noble thoughts of Education Minsiter Peerzada Mohammad Sayeed for 100% literacy in the State that too with quality and morality in the standards of Education The speakers from different parts of the State expressed their views on the importance of the Day and discussed at length the functioning of the Department in School Education with special focus on the role of Plus 2 Cadre in the development of Education in the State. The House specially focused on the confronting areas which include the immediate regularization of incharge Lecturers, Principals and other incumbents, re-organization of the Department with creation of separate Directorates at Elementary, Secondary and Higher Secondary Level with a Director General at State Level, and welcomed the announcement of Minister for Education Jenab Peerzada Mohammad Sayeed for upgradation of Higher secondary schools as “ Intermediate Colleges in the State”. The House also stressed for implementation of decisions taken by the Ex- Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad in presence of Education Minister Peerzada Mohammad Sayeed for benefit of running pattern in the Pay Scale of Rs. 8000-13500/- and placement of Lecturers in Pay Band No- 3 in accordance with the recommendation of S.L Bhatt Committee, Pay Anomalies, Committee and Cabinet , Sub- Committee constituted for the purpose in J&K. The other highlights of the Day were the annual report of the Forum both at District and State Level H.D Qureshi, State President of the Forum expressed his determination that the Forum will further intensify its efforts to achieve the goal of “Academic Excellence”.
