Disparity in promotions: HC directs CAPD commissioner, director to appear in court | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Apr 09: In a petition filed by CAPD employees of Jammu division, seeking parity with their counterparts in Kashmir who were promoted by creating and upgrading 236 posts, high court judge, Justice J P Singh directed CAPD commissionerand Jammu division director to appear in court along with the requisite record on the next date of hearing. Issuing the directive, Justice Singh observed that on March 4 last, the court passed an order asking the state counsel to file latest status report indicating the steps taken by the respondents in granting similar benefit to the officials of CAPD directorate, Jammu, as was done in the case of officials of CAPD, Kashmir.As the report was not complied even after the case was adjourned twice, he directed CAPD commissioner and CAPD director, Jammu, to appear in the court. In the petition, it was prayed that the respondents be directed to create and upgrade the posts of TSOs/Inspectors with effect from October 15, 2008, whereby 236 posts of TSOs/Inspectors were upgraded for the employees of the directorate of CAPD, Kashmir, and promote the petitioners and other eligible persons with effect from the date their counterparts serving in Kashmir division were promoted.
