| Panchayati Raj to make people partners of development: Rather | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, APRIL 10:- Stating that the massive developmental initiatives extended by Present Government in every nook and corner of the State are bound to bring turn around in the overall socio-economic emancipation in coming days, the Minister for Finance and Ladakh Affairs Mr. Abdul Rahim Rather today called upon the people to be the active partner of this march to progress by monitoring the implementation and execution of development schemes in their respective areas adding that this would also ensure judicious use of public money.
Addressing a series of public meetings at Sogam, Kralwari, Dadompora and Surisyar during his extensive tour to the Charar- i -Sharief constituency, on the 3rd consecutive day-to-day. Mr. Rather said that making J&K a model prosperous and developed State in the country is an ambitious mission which would be fructified at all costs. He sought cooperation of the people in restoring lasting peace in the State which he said was primarily imperative for a sustained developmental pace.
The tour was conducted to take stock of the pace of progress on various developmental schemes and to have on-the-spot assessment of the people problems.
Mr. Rather also called for unity and harmony among the people for the just cause of status welfare adding that the people should judge by themselves who are their real friends and well-wishers.
In fact, need of the hour is to redress the genuine grievance of the people and provide them basic amenities. Mr. Rather said and adding that holding of Panchayat elections is step forward towards empowering people at grass-root levels so that they are able to solve their issues and problems as per the local priorities and needs. He asked the people to elect honest, dedicated and capable candidates who could serve them as per their urges and aspirations.
Mr. Rather said that Panchayati Raj system envisages to make people partners of development and prosperity
Responding to the demands of the people, the Minister said that after final report of the census-2011, the people of the State would provide ration accordingly.
