Vichar Kranti Manch held protest outside Raj Bhawan | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, April 10: Vichar Kranti Manch International, a socio-spiritual voluntary organization, in collaboration with some NGOs, educational institutions and some prominent individuals held a three hour long Dharna outside Raj Bhawan( Official residence of the State Governor), Jammu against wide spread corruption prevalent in the public life, administration and the society. The volunteers sitting on dharna congratulated Anna Hazare, a crusader against corruption whose fast unto death has culminated successfully with the Government of India conceding his demand to constitute Janta Lak Pal Bill, drafted jointly by a committee comprising equal representatives of the Civil Society and the Government. They demanded constitution of similar Janta Laok Pal in J&K State as well. A memorandum was submitted to the State Governor NN Vohra, highlighting the malady of corruption in various walks of life and demanding stern action against the corrupt elements. It was also demanded that the state governmnet should appoint a commission enquiry headed by a sitting or Retd. High Court judge for identifying the corrupt among politicians, bureaucracy, criminals, land grabbers, involved in various corrupt practices and to punish them severely. The speakers demanded immediate and effective measures by the Govt. to make RTI commission functional and effective.
