Early Times Report
JAMMU, April 10: Jammu Province People’s Forum,(JPPF) a conglomerate of Jammu based political groups, socio-cultural and trade organizations, has warned the government against any dilution or revocation of the order about issuing Dogra certificate to the people of Jammu region irrespective of their caste, religion, language and sub region.

They have warned that its revocation will lead to a strong agitation in the whole of region on the pattern of the agitation fought by Jammu people in the year 2008.

A meeting of the forum held here today under the chairmanship of Thakur pavitter Singh strongly condemned the virulent campaign launched by the separatists and arch communalists in Kashmir against the Government decision to confer Dogra certificate on all those people from Jammu region who are desirous to acquire the same, to facilitate them in getting recruitment in the Indian army and Para Military forces, with concession in physical verification.

Addressing the meeting the senior forum leader Inderjeet Khajuria remarked that the Kashmiri politicians, who want to continue their hegemony over the people of Jammu and Ladakh do not tolerate the Dogra identity to assert itself and the people of Jammu as a whole, irrespective of their religion and language get a common identity.

Pavitter Singh announced that soon a larger meeting of representatives of all the Jammu based political groups, socio-cultural organizations and trade bodies will be convened, to chalk out the program to resist the pressure brought to be built by some Kashmiri politicians against the Government move to acknowledge Dogra identity, which is synonyms to Jammu regional identity.
