Ensure all facilities to move employees : CS | School timings now from 9 am to 3 pm | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Srinagar, April 10: Impressing upon the heads of departments of Kashmir Division for ensuring all possible facilities for the move employees coming with annual darbar moves to summer capital Srinagar, the Chief Secretary Mr. Madhav Lal instructed the officers to ensure uninterrupted power supply, sanitation in and around secretariat Govt. residential quarters, water supply etc. He asked the Director Estates to complete all the repair and renovation work going apace in the secretariat and govt quarters well before the offices move here. He also asked the JKPCC, agency to complete the new 5 storey building coming up behind secretariat within the stipulated period. The Chief Secretary was addressing a high level meeting of officers of various departments at new secretariat here this afternoon. Director Estates apprised the Chief Secretary that an amount of Rs 28. 75 crores are being spent on the five storey building and said work on the construction has been started in March 2011 and Rs 2 cr released already for the purpose. He said this building is expected to be completed in 3 years and the building has a built up area of 6372 square meters. He informed the Chief Secretary that 11 halls have been modernised which include that halls of education, health and ARI trainings also. He said 85000 litre new sump has also been completed for supply of water to the secretariat. It was also decided in the meeting that new school timings in the municipal limits would be from 9 am to 3 pm when offices move down to Srinagar. This decision has been taken in view of heavy traffic pressure. Later, the Chief Secretary visited various floors of the building where repairs and renovation work is going apace.
