| DDC Sgr distributes cheques, inspects dev works in Ganderbal | | | Srinagar, Nov 15 The District Development commissioner Srinagar, Sheikh Ajaz Iqbal today distributed financial assistance of Rs. 1.90 crore among 147 beneficiaries at an awareness camp held at Ganderbal today. The camp was organized by the Lead Bank District Manager, Srinagar for unemployed youth of Ganderbal and Kangan blocks in collaboration with Employment and Industries departments. Earlier, the District Development Commissioner chaired the officers meeting at Ganderbal Sub-Division and reviewed the implementation of various development works in Ganderbal and Kangan areas. He was informed that under R&B sector in Ganderbal, the work on construction of road projects is apace at a cost of Rs. 7.13 crore in which 30 Kms have been black topped and so far Rs. 5 crore have been incurred on it. He was informed that the work on 6 road projects in the area have been taken in hand with NABARD funding. The meeting was informed that under PHE sector, work on 6 water supply schemes have been taken up under which Rs. 50 lakh have been spent so far while one water supply scheme has been completed at a cost of Rs. 36 lakh. It was also told that work on two residential quarters has been started at Ganderbal at a cost of Rs. 2 crore.The DDC also inspected the work on various road projects in Ganderbal and Kangan areas. He was accompanied by District officers, Engineers and CPO Srinagar.
