Opposition give ruling alliance sleepless nights | Ahead of LC polls | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, April 10: The PDP, BJP and PP combine has been giving sleepless nights to the ruling coalition ahead of Legislative Council elections. The PDP has 21, BJP 11 and Panthers Party 3 MLAs who can jointly turn the tables over the coalition canddate. Informed sources said the PDP is working on the back channels to ensure the victory of Bharat Bhushan Gupta in the legislative council polls on April 13. The miseries of the government are far too many and keeping them on tenterhooks. The coalition which has fielded two candidates for the same seat is appearing little shaky. YashPaul Khajuria from the Congress and NC candidate Noor Mohammad are themselves facing the daunting task of ensuring their own victory despite having a majority of legislators on their side. To prevent any last minute goof up the newly appointed AICC General secretary and incharge of the congress party Mohan Prakash has convened meeting of the party MLA's here on Monday to devise a party strategy. The central leader also expects cross voting. With the ouster of Abdul Ghani Vakil from the fray, the dissidents may not toe the party line and are likely to indulge in cross voting.
