| Youth held by Punjab police in dowry case | | |
JAMMU, Apr 10: A youth was arrested by Punjab police from his residence at Sainik Colony here today for demanding dowry from his wife.
Police sources said Poonam lodged a complaint with Shahpur police station in Punjab, alleging therein that her husband had turned her out of his house at Sainik Colony after she could not bring him more dowry.
Acting on the complaint, a Punjab police today arrested the youth from Sainik Colony and whisked him away to Shahpur police station where a case was registered against him under sections 498 and 406 of RPC.
