Railways to face AG XI in CGEWCC Cricket final tomorrow | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, April 11: Railways XI shall be playing against Accountant General (AG) XI in the final of the ongoing cricket tournament of Central Government Employees Welfare Coordination Committee (CGEWCC) at MA Stadium, here on April 13 Earlier, in the semi-final, played today, Railways trounced Principal Comptroller of Defence Accounts (PCDA) by seven wickets here today. Batting first, after winning the toss, PCDA set a target of 109 runs for the loss of eight wickets in allotted 20 overs, which, in reply, Railways chased losing three wickets. Star striker, Pardeep Bali was top scorer with 29 runs, followed by Ashok Dutt, who contributed 28 runs to the total. From Railways, Sanjeev was most successful bowler, who clinched six wickets for 14 runs in four overs. Abhishek and Satish Gulati shared apiece each. Later, chasing the target, Railways reached the required total in 17.3 overs losing three wickets in the process. Manoj Kumar guided the side to victory with his brilliant unbeaten half century (56, 6x4). Ranveer Bali also played well adding 23 runs studded with four hits to the fence. Rinku added valuable 19 runs with the help of four boundaries. From PCDA, Pardeep Bali claimed two wickets, followed by Shakti Singh, who took one. Today’s semifinal was officiated by Shashi Jamwal and Anil Kher as umpires while Surinder Mohan and Mahesh Jamwal were scorers.
