| BSF wrestler Omkar Singh lifts Chhourta Kesari title | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, April 11: Wrestler Omkar Singh of Border Security Force (BSF) clinched the 13th edition of Chhourta Kesari dangal title outplaying Pahalwan Swarn Singh of Kot Bhalwal in Jammu in the main bout played at Chhourta.
Winner, Omkar was given away a cash prize of Rs 2500 while runners-up, Swarn Singh presented a cash reward of Rs 1500 by chief guest, president, J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association, Shiv Kumar Sharma. President, Salora Dangal Committee, Chuni Lal Ranmotra and Durga Dass Thappa of Jhajjer Kotli were guests of honour.
In all, 34 bouts were decided in this day-long dangal, which was organized by Chhourta Dangal Committee in collaboration with J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association.
In the second main bout, Mohd Akram of Jammu defeated Wrestler Bobari of Shiv Mandir Akhara Jammu while Kalu of Jammu won the third main bout beating Sethi of RS Pura. The fourth main bout went to Prem Verma of Jhiri, who beat Prabhat Singh of Kalakot.
Chhourta Dangal Committee members, who helped in smooth conduct of this Dangal included Sham Lal Sharma, Subash Chander Sharma, Sunder Singh, Dr. Subash Chander, Pritam Singh and Bishan Dass. The technical committee was comprised of Vijay Singh, Mohd. Fareed, Balwan Singh, Hukam Chand and Raj Singh.
Other Results: Gorkha bt Majeed, Bushan bt Gurdev Singh, Riaz bt Iqbal Mohd, Baloo bt Dalip Singh, Jakker bt Pritam Singh, Liaqat Ali bt Devinder, farooq bt Kaka, Ajay Sharma bt football, Billu bt Karnail Singh, Ballu bt Billu. Bouts between Murad Ali of Jammu and Rakesh of J&K Police and Gopal Singh of Jindrah and Mohd farooq ended in a draw.
