No let up in cold as fresh snow on upper reaches, rain in plains | | | Early Times Report SRINAGAR, April 11 : There is still no let up in the cold in the Kashmir valley as the upper reaches experienced fresh light to moderate snowfall while plains, including, Srinagar, received rains. However, the 300-km-long Srinagar-Jammu national highway was through while the national highway connecting the Ladakh region with the rest of the state remained closed. Fresh snowfall and rains have again resulted in drop in the temperature in the valley, where people continued to wear woolen and warm clothes. A Met department spokesman said the Western Disturbances (WD) originating in the Arabian sea and entering the region through Afghanistan and Pakistan, were active over Jammu and Kashmir.
