| Mehbooba condemns barbaric killing of 12th standard student | | | EARLY TIMES
Srinagar, Apr 11: Expressing her deep concern over ever deteriorating security scenario in the State, president of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Mehbooba Mufti today strongly condemned killing of Sajjad Ahmed Dar in Sopore yesterday.
Mehbooba Mufti said that killing, barbaric murder of a 12th standard student, is yet another instance of unaccounted loss of life in Kashmir which is attributed to “unidentified gunmen”
She said that her heart goes out to the bereaved family and especially grief stricken parents for whom the murder has come as a severe shock.
She said that killing of Sajjad was not an isolated incident but part of the chain of similar incidents resulting in a long list of causalities and resultant tragedies.
PDP chief said that only last week another young man was killed in similar circumstances in Ganderbal but the government is able to do nothing to stop this bloodshed or bring to book the perpetrators of these crimes which have generated atmosphere of fear and insecurity throughout Kashmir Valley.
Urging the state government to immediately find out the whereabouts of a youth Suresh Raina who has been missing from Chandre area of Aishmukam, Mehbooba Mufti has stated that the targeting of young men has assumed a sinister dimension and the government must come clear on these latest incidents.
She said, while the government has created hype about the so-called summer unrest and remained obsessed with “prevention to repeat it”, the worst thing seem to be happening.
Sense of security and feeling of peace have been seriously compromised as a result of government wayward functioning and repressive measures.
