Addressing a press conference, president AJKHG Kamla Sharma said since past six years they are on Dharna in Mubarak Mandi complex but unfortunately none of the politicians have bothered to address their problem. She urged the home guards not to vote for any of the candidates who is corrupt and has no clean public image. She said that the jawans of home guard are performing their duty with dedication and honesty, like personnel of other belt forces, but in return they have are not receiving required salaries. “We get only Rs 410 every month, which is totally unjustified keeping in view the duty hours jawans put in service of the state. There prices of all the essential commodities have rose sharply, how can we survive in this”, she said. Sharma demanded for the regularization of the jawnas of home guard or merging their services in some other departments. “Government should treat us in the same manner as the neighboring Punjab is providing all the facilities to home guard”, she said. Among those who were present on the occasion included Santosh, Veena, Bimla, Tirath Singh, Mohinder Singh Subash Cnander, Abdul Majid and Mohds Sayad beside others.
