Police has some clues in Moulana Showkat’s killing: OmarAppreciates Jamiat-e-Ahlihadith appeal for maintaining peace | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Srinagar, Apr 11 : The Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah, Monday revealed that the Police have got some clues in the assassination of Jamiat-e-Ahlihadith President, Moualan Showkat Ahmad Shah. Talking to reporters at Tulip Garden here, the Chief Minister said, “Investigations are on but at this time it is difficult to say anything. We have got some clues regarding which way investigations should go. We hope we will expose the killers soon.” Appreciating the statement of Jamiat-e-Ahlihadith, Omar said, “There statement that peace should be maintained is appreciable. It is a big statement.” On Dogra Certificate issue, he said, it would be discussed in the cabinet. “If need arises, we will request Central Government to give relaxation in recruitment in central forces on the basis of geography and not language,” he said.According to KNS Omar said that from the last two or three years ‘militancy is on decline.’“But it is not true that everywhere militants have been whipped out. Some areas like Tral, Handwara, Sopore and Kupwara are still under the influence of militants.”Omar hoped that the coming tourist season will pass on peacefully. (KNS)
