`MLA Ramnagar violates code of conduct’ | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, April 11: The MLA Ramnagar has been accused of threatening the people of Ramnagar of dire consequences incase they failed to vote for the proxy candidate of Panthers Party in the forthcoming Panchayat elections. The local MLA, locals said toured Ramnagar on April 4 and Majalta on April 10 and openly called upon the people to vote for candidates bearing allegiance to Panthers Party and in case they do not vote for ‘proxy’Panthers candidates. The locals said the MLA also threatened to stall the development of the particular Panchayats where his candidates are defeated. He has announced half-a-dozen hand-pumps, protection work for M.S. Drabran in Majalta, drinking water pipes, electric poles and high-mast lights during his tour of the area thereby trying to influence the voters of the area in favour of candidates unofficially put forth by his party. This nasty electioneering has reduced the very essence and edifice of ‘non-party basis elections’.The locals have demanded appropriate action against the MLA.
