VRS employees criticize J&K SRTC management | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Apr 12: An emergent meeting of All J&K SRTC Volunteer Retirement Employees Association was held today under the leadership of Dev Raj Bali President and Surinder Singh which strongly criticized the adamant attitude of the J&K SRTC management for not clearing the benefits dues in favour of VRS employees. For the last 2 years the employees are giving dharnas and protesting on the roads for their dues and benefits but the management has remained a mute spectator whereas it was promised at the time of giving VRS that their dues and arrears will be cleared within 60 days. The association expressed its inability to understand the policy of the J&K SRTC management that on the one hand they are giving the VRS to its employees saying that there is surplus staff and on the other hand while new appointments are being made and it is understood that the J&K SRTC have deceived its employees by giving them VRS and reasons are best known to the management as the association warned the management that either their dues and arrears be cleared before the darbar move or they may be called back on their respective posts. The association also appealed to the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah that either their dues or arrears be cleared from the J&K Management and if that is not possible they may be called back on their respective posts as the J&K SRTC is recruiting new employees. Detail of dues pending of the employees include CP Fund interest, pending COLA - arrears pending since 1999 to 2010, 6th pay commission w.e.f. 2006 to 2010 and time bound promotion B.V Sharma, D.N Sharma, Ashan Elahi, Gulshan Singh, Surjit Singh, Prem Nath and others were present in the meeting.
