Youth's death triggers protest, people block road | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Apr 12: Demanding a probe into the mysterious death of a computer dealer at Shastri Nagar here Monday, people today protested inside the GMC hospital and on the Bakshi Nagar road outside. Manjeet Singh (25) of Sidhra was yesterday found hanging under mysterious circumstances from the ceiling fan hook of his rented room at Shastri Nagar. Though the body was removed by police to the GMC hospital mortuary Monday afternoon, the authorities concerned did not conduct post-mortem on it. Angered by the delay, Manjeet's family members and relatives protested inside the hospital premises, raising slogans against the superintendent. Amidst raising of slogans, they later came on the Bakshi Nagar road outside and blocked it to vehicular traffic. They alleged that Manjeet had been murdered under a well-planned conspiracy by his business partners. They were, however, pacified by senior police officers who visited the spot and assured them a probe. On their demand, post-mortem on the body was conducted by a Board of Doctors. After the post-mortem, they took the body home and performed last rites on it.
