| ZEO attached for negligence of duty | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Apr 12: A zonal education officer (ZEO) was today attached for dereliction of duty at Mendhar in Poonch.
Acting on complaints, deputy chief education officer Mohammad Sadiq
conduct surprise checking of government schools in Mankote belt of Mendhar.
During checking, he found that several primary and middle schools in Chowki, Nud, Basra, Dhara and Chawara were closed and 16 teachers were absent from duty, official sources said.
The authorities immediately ordered attachment of the ZEO and issued showcause notices to 16 teachers for remaining absent, the sources added, saying action would be taken against the absentee teachers.
