Valley resumes normal life

Srinagar Apr 12: The Valley today resumed normal life after three days of strikes. The strikes were observed to protest killing of Jamiat-e-Ahli Hadees Chief, Moulana Showkat and government order to issue Dogra Certificate to Jammu people.
Shops and commercial establishments opened today. Large number of shoppers thronged the markets. Traffic jams were witnessed at Lal Chowk, Residency Road and elsewhere in the city. Long queues of people were seen waiting for their turns outside the ATM’s at different places. An improvement in weather after few days of incessant rains added to the rush of shoppers in markets this afternoon. Police and CRPF personnel holding automatic weapons were seen patrolling markets and streets in the city. Reports from other major towns of the valley said that the life returned to normal and markets witnessed good rush of people. (AIP)
