| 1 killed, 17 hurt in minibus accident | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Apr 12 : One person was today killed and at least 17 others were wounded when a minibus in which they were travelling skidded off the road and fell into a gorge in Doda.
The ill-fated minibus (JK02AA/8781) was on its way from Doda to Bhalla.
Police sources said the minibus fell into a gorge after its driver failed to negotiate a sharp curve, resulting in the instant death of a person and injuries to at least 17 others.
The dead was identified as Din Mohammad of Batyas and the injured as Abdul Wahid of Masri Pranu, Ranjit Singh of Dessa, Mushtaq Ahmad of Shamti, Raja Rameez of Pranoo, Rozy Begum of Munshi Mohalla, Doda, Javed of Thalela, Shabir Ahmad of Kupwara, Kashmir, Shakuntla Devi of Bhaderwah, Rehmatullah of Dak Mohalla, Doda, Ghulam Mustafa of Pranoo, Pramodh Kumar of Bhalla, Kuljeet Singh of Batyas, his wife
Srishta Devi, Joginder Singh of Dessa, Rani Devi of Pranoo, Piyush Bhardwaj of Pranoo and Preeti Devi of Pranoo.All of them were hospitalised. Police had registered a case in this connection. |
