| Bittu Pujari suffers massive cardiac arrest after Ramnavmi Poojan | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Apr 12 : He worshiped Mata Vaishno Devi all through his life and when the end came he was right there at the door step of Maa Bhagwati.
This is the story of famous priest popularly known as 'Bittu pujari' who died on Tuesday morning shortly after Ramnavmi poojan at the Bhawan shrine of Mata Vaishno Devi due to massive heart attack. Tragedy struck shortly after Bittu pujari stepped out of the cave shrine and was resting in his room at the Bhawan when he complained of uneasiness.
One of his close associates present in the room asked him to seek medical help and rushed him to Sanjhi Chat for airlifting to Katra hospital. After some time the doctors in Katra declared him brought dead. For common pilgrims Bittu pujari may have been an unknown face but those who knew him respected him a lot for his love for life and discipline.
The shrine board authorities have expressed shock over the sudden demise of Bittu pujari. Prominent citizens, hotel associations and businessmen have also expressed shock over the sudden demise of their favourite pujari.
Belonging to a famous family of priests in Katra Bittu Pujari's uncle Amir Chand was in Surat when he heard this bad news. He is reaching Katra to attend the cremation ceremony.
Meanwhile, large number of local people in Katra assembled outside the residence of Bittu Pujari to have his last darshan and share the grief with the bereaved family. |
