| Dancing Farooq talks peace | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Anantnag, Apr 12 : The union minister for renewable energy and former Chief Minister, Dr Farooq Abdullah today danced with the local artists at Kokernag, Anantnag and stated that killing of innocent people was intolerable. .
Farooq attended a function at Nag Dandi Achabal organized by Swami Viveka Nada Ashram on the eve of Ramnavmi. The Union Minister dedicated park to children developed by Kokernag Development Authority.
While paying glowing tributes to religious Islamic Scholar Maulana Showket, who was killed on Friday in an IED Blast, Srinagar, Farooq said that killing of innocents can't be tolerated.
While talking to media, Farooq Abdullah said, "I have directed the state government to find killers of Religious Scholar Maulana Showkat on speedy basis and give them harsh punishment," adding that the main aim of the killers was to disturb the peace in valley.
He said that the government wants a peaceful summer ahead and people should cooperate in this regard so that the developmental works especially Panchayat elections could be held in a peaceful environment, which will help people to solve their problems and government will be able to reach to the door steps. "I appreciate state government for conducting Panchayat elections in State which will be a mile stone for democratic process," Farooq Abdullah said.
He said that if the Dogra Certificate discriminates any region or community and could cause regional imbalance in the state or disturb law and order in the state then the state government should review it.
"Our country as well as our state has been eaten by the moth of corruption, I appreciate Anna Hazare for his valour and dedication towards the social cause, he has set an example for the whole country and a source of inspiration for helping in, to establish corruption free country," adding that people should join Anna Hazzre's movement- a noble cause. Dr. Farooq Abdullah later on watched a cultural show, performed by the cultural wing of District Information, Anantnag, who presented a folk Music show (Chakri) which enthralled the audience and Union Minister lost his patience and jumped on the podium and started dancing on the music. |
