Jammu, Apr 13: The ongoing series of Extension Lectures in the Dogra College of Education concluded here today with a stimulating and thought provoking lecture on the topic " Behaviour Modification in Class Room Situations" delivered by B D Damral, an expert in the field of Psychology and former principal Govt. College of Education ..
During the course of lecture Damral shared his personal experience and research findings related to the modification of behaviour among the students in the class room situations. In his lecture he explained the psychological concept of behaviour as well as of behaviour modification and stressed upon the use of reinforcement as a technique of behaviour modification among the students.
In this context he explained that positive reinforcement should be used for strengthening desired behaviour and negative reinforcement should be used for weakening undesired behaviour and the use of punishment should be avoided as far as possible.
The lecture was followed by interactive session in which Damral responded to the queries of the students as well as the faculty members.
