| Sheep smuggling bid foiled, vehicle seized | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
ANANTNAG, Apr, 13: CAPD department seized a vehicle here today, foiling a bid to smuggle sheep.
The vehicle (JKO3C/0895) contained 40 sheep and its driver had no permission to carry them when CAPD assistant director Gulam Rasool Magray seized it, according to official sources.
The sheep were later sold live in open market of Achabal, Anantnag, by CAPD department at Rs 100 per kg.Sources said such surprise checks would continue in the area to stop the smuggling of sheep and goats.
