PDP hold signature campaign against higher school fee | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, April 13: Continuing with its agitation against charging of exorbitant fees by the private schools, the Jammu & Kahmir Peoples’ Democratic Party held a signature campaign at Kachi Chawni area here today. The campaign was led by Vikram Singh, Girish Sharma, Pankaj Gupta and Sachin Sharma against the exorbitant charges for admission fee, monthly fee, charges of uniform, school dairies and even school bags being provided by the school authorities. The PDP leaders alleged that J&K govt has totally failed to control these institutions in all aspects. They also alleged that teachers are running parallel classes by indulging in private tuitions. The protesting PDP activists demanded that government should initiate steps regarding this and not to play with the future of unemployed teachers. While addressing the protest, Girish Sharma said that the Private schools were charging huge amount of admission fees from parents during the admission. Infact, the school managements have established their own book shops in the schools. The Schools directed the parents to purchase the books and uniforms from their school charging higher on books, uniforms, bags and School dairies. They charges 40-50 % higher than market price.
