Toppers among Kishtwar school children meet Governor | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, APRIL 14 – The Governor, N. N. Vohra, has emphasized the need for arranging career counseling through experts for guiding high school students to choose careers which are compatible with their aptitudes and the employment market potentials.The Governor was interacting with a group of about 25 meritorious students of the Islamia Faridiya Educational and Research Institute, Kishtwar, who called on him at Raj Bhavan here today. During his visit to this Institute in November last year, on the occasion of its Annual Day function, the Governor had invited the Principal of the Institute to arrange visits of the meritorious students, along with their teachers, to the Raj Bhavan, Jammu. The visiting students, studying in the 5th to 11th classes, had obtained the top positions in their recent annual examinations. The Governor observed that the youth of Jammu and Kashmir are highly talented and hard working, adding that given the enabling environment they have very high potential to excel both in academics and extra-curricular activities. He said that career counseling needs to be arranged to enable the students to make well informed choices about their future careers.The Governor said that along with academics the children, particularly those hailing from the remote areas, should be encouraged to take part in various extra-curricular activities, including debating and essay writing competitions and sports, for their balanced personality development.
