| HC upholds termination of contract by IRCON | | |

JAMMU, Apr 14: High court judge, Justice J P Singh today upheld termination of contract by IRCON, saying the dispute raised by the petitioner could be resolved through arbitration, or other modes
under law.
The court directive came in a petition filed by Khurshid Ahmed Zaz, who was alloted contract for the construction of RCC overhead water tank at Banihal railway station yard by IRCON.
As IRCON later terminated the contract, Khurshid moved high court. Justice Singh observed that the petitioner's contract was terminated for violation of specific terms and conditions governing the
contract and referred identical judgment of the Supreme Court in this regard.
He said the disputes raised by the petitioner revolved around the questions of fact requiring its resolution by arbitration or other modes available to the petitioner under law.
The petitioner was found not maintainable and dismissed, he ordered.
