JSM deplores cross-vote by BJP MLAs | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Apr 14: Jammu State Morcha (JSM) has expressed deep anguish and regret over the behaviour of 7 Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLAs who violated party whip and voted in favour of National Conference (NC) and Congress alliance candidates in the elections for the legislative council. In a joint statement Prof. Virender Gupta, H. B Khajuria, Chandra Uday Sharma and Vishav Bandhu of Jammu State Morcha said that BJP MLAs have not only betrayed their party but also faith of the people of Jammu region who voted in favour of the party in the general assembly elections with the hope that BJP shall fight for the cause of the people of Jammu region and try to provide justice to them. They added that BJP time and again talks of opposing the policies of Kashmir based parties like NC and Congress but the fact remains that its leaders have always bowed before the Kashmiri leaders and yielded to their demands against the interests of the people of Jammu region. However, the present episode of cross voting by majority of its MLAs against the announced party line reflects that the party is neither sincere to its ideology nor to its commitments.
