JK Taekwondo boys win CW bronze | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, April 14 – The Jammu and Kashmir Taekwondo Association led by its Vice President, Nissar Ahmad presented the Commonwealth (CW) bronze medalist Asad Bhat and Atul Pangotra to Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah here this evening and apprised him of the performance of the Association at national and international levels. The JK boys are also national champions and received bronze medals in both junior and senior category of Taekwondo Commonwealth Championship at Bangalore. Various other deputations also called on the Chief Minister here and presented him memoranda of their demands. A deputation of All Migrant Camps Coordination Committee headed by Ajay Bharati and Desh Rattan Pandita highlighted the demands of Kashmiri Pandits which included request for implementation of Koul Committee Report, enhancement of relief, soft loans for traders and shopkeepers, rent for the property occupied by security forces, adoption of Protection of Temples Bill by the Legislature, supply of rice, atta and suger to Government Migrant Employees and preference in employment package to the children of those families who have no government employees since 1947. A deputation of Handicapped Welfare Association led by K. K. Verma requested for amendment in the Disabled Act, reservation in employment and professional colleges for the children of disabled, transfer policy for disabled employees, convenience allowance to disabled, allotment of plots, enhancement to the monthly pension, health cover and creation of separate Commissioner for disabled persons. A deputation of BEMS doctors in their memorandum highlighted the demands relating to these doctors while the deputations from Poonch, Bungiwachi, Srinagar, Ganderbal and Budgam apprised the Chief Minister of their demands relating to the upgradation of basic amenities in their areas.
