| Housing colony over 1200 kanals coming up at Mishri Walla: Zargar | | | JAMMU, NOV 16 Jammu and Kashmir Cooperative Housing Corporation (JKCHC) is constructing a housing colony at a cost of Rs. 12 crore at Mishri Walla Jammu with HUDCO funding. The colony to be named as Panchwati enclave spreading over 1200 kanals of land would have all basic facilities is expected to provide residential facilities for 1200 families. This was stated in a review meeting of JKCHC convened here today and presided over by Minister for Agriculture and Cooperatives Mr. Abdul Aziz Zargar. The meeting was informed that the Corporation is also constructing four new Cooperative colonies one each at Baramulla, Nishat, Kud and Domana at a cumulative cost of Rs. 30 crore. The survey for the purpose has been conducted and projects are being formulated by the Corporation. The Corporation has constructed four Cooperative Housing Colonies at Sidrah, Chack Changerwan Jammu, Peer Bagh Srinagar and Humhama Budgam, the meeting was informed. The meeting also reviewed the impediments coming in the way of construction of the housing colony at Mishriwalla Jammu and decided to frame a committee to look into these. Addressing the meeting Mr. Zargar asked the Corporation to formulate projects for constructing Cooperative Housing colonies in other districts of the state. He called for using cost effective technology in the construction of the housing colonies of the Corporation. He said that the Cooperative Department would have to venture into commercial activities for becoming self reliant and boosting the economic activities in the state. He said that with the random growth of population need for providing residential accommodation facilities which has become imperative and suggested for a proper land use management policy to be followed by the corporation while preparing feasibility reports for construction of residential colonies. Minister of State for School Education S. Manjit Singh, Secretary Cooperatives S. Dalip Singh, Additional District Deputy Commissioner and S.P Jammu, Chairman JK CHC, Mr. S. S. Manhas and General Manager JKCHC Mr. Bharat Bhushan also attended the meeting. |
