Manjit lays foundation of development works in Vijaypur

JAMMU, NOV 16
Minister of State for School Education and CAPD, S. Manjit Singh today laid foundation stone of various works in Vijaypur town. The works include blacktopping of roadsides of main market, construction of matador stand, construction of road from matador stand to temple, construction and improvement of lanes and drains in Vijaypur town. This would cost Rs 50 lakhs.
Addressing public meeting at Vijaypur and Ramgarh later, the Minister said that during last 4 years over Rs 3 crore have been spent on various development works in Vijaypur town. He said that for beautification and improvement of Vijaypur town various steps have been initiated. He said that during the said period remarkable achievements have registered on all fronts adding equitable development of all regions and areas has been accorded priority by the present government.
The Minister asked the people to come forward and make the developmental programmes result oriented by involving in the execution and monitoring of welfare programmes is imperative for achieving satisfactory results. He said that due to the execution of massive development programme, generation of employment and provision of basic facilities to the people has become possible.
S. Manjit Singh announced that a branch office of Board of School Education would be opened at Vijaypur for the facility of students of the area.
He further said that the CAPD department would conduct afresh survey in rural areas for identification of BPL families for providing rationing to such families who have been left out.
The Minister inaugurated S. Gurcharn Singh Memorial Marg and Shopping Complex at Ramgarh constructed at a cost of Rs 14 lakhs. He also conducted a surprise visit of Government Primary School Karyal Khurd and Government Middle School Suhagpur.
Later, the Minister presided over Childern’s Day function at Government Higher Secondary School at Salehar in R. S. Pora tehsil. The students of the institution presented a colorful cultural programme on the occasion. Addressing the students and the teachers on the occasion, the Minister asked them to maintain the bipolar relationship for improving the standard of education and making the students better citizens of future.
