| Youth allegedly beaten in police custody, hospitalised | | |
JAMMU, Apr 14:
A youth, who worked in an electronic goods shop at Karan Market here, was today allegedly beaten in custody by Hari Market police and hospitalised.
Chanderkant of Gole Puli, who worked in the electronic goods shop of Shiv Kumar at Karan Market, was alleged to have committed a burglary in the shop.
He was picked up by the cops of Hari Market police post on the complaint of Shiv Kumar, police sources said.However, when he complained of stomach pain during questioning, the cops admitted him to the GMC hospital.In the hospital, he alleged that he had been beaten by police in
custody.He claimed that he had committed no burglary in the shop and alleged that the owner had registered a wrong case against him as he wanted to leave the shop against his wishes.
