Div Com orders for immediate relief victims
20 structures gutted in old city

EARLY TIMES REPORT
Srinagar Apr 15 : At least twenty residential houses, including some shops, were gutted in a devastating fire in old city here on Friday afternoon.
Reports said the fire emanated from one of the residential houses in Gadood Bagh in Habba Kadal and spread within no time and reduced property worth crores to ashes.
Eyewitnesses told KNS that fire engulfed dozens of houses and shops within no time. Around six fire tenders from Batamaloo and Habba Kadal locality rushed to the spot but had to face tough time because of the congestion and heavy traffic movement in the area.
Meanwhile, on the instructions of Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir, Dr Asgar Samoon, 15 tents, 20 mattresses, 40 blankets, 20 relief packs, and other items have been provided as relief from the J&K State Red Cross to the victims.
Instructions have been given to Deputy Commissioner Srinagar to immediately provide relief to the fire victims as per Natural Calamity Relief Rules.
