Early Times Report
JAMMU, Apr 15: As many as 4,000 cases of violence against women have been registered by Jammu and Kashmir State Commission for Women (JKSCW), a senior official today said.
"After inception of the Commission in the state, around 4,000 cases of violence against women were registered by it in Jammu and Kashmir", Secretary JKSCW Hafeeza Muzaffar said, adding, out of those 1,500 cases were settled amicably.
JKSCW was setup in Jammu and Kashmir to deal with crime against women a decade ago. Hafeeza called upon the women to come forward and bring the excesses, if any, to the notice of the Commission so that necessary steps could be taken for their redressal.”
She said, "Woman is a cradle of love and peace and every one should respect her emotions, as without her contribution no society could become prosperous." She further said that the Commission was paying focused attention towards formulation of gender budgeting in every section which would uplift a lot of women and bring them out from clutches of miseries.
